Ozil landed in Turkey ahead of signing at Fenerbahce

Beginning of an article

The new chapter in Mesut Ozil’s career is approaching. After nearly a year in which he did not play, the German midfielder of Turkish descent landed tonight (Sunday) in Istanbul ahead of a signing at Fenerbahce.

Prior to the expected signing of the team from Istanbul, Ozil reached an agreement with Arsenal on the termination of the contract. As part of his release from the English club, Ozil had to give up £ 7 million in order to release his contract. At Arsenal, the midfielder earned £ 300,000 a week, and at Fener he will earn £ 65,000.

The signing grant for the Turkish team will amount to no less than £ 4.5 million spread over three years. If he leads his new team to the first championship in seven years, the club will benefit from a £ 445,000 championship grant.

After 17 rounds, Fenerbahce is in second place in the Turkish league with 35 points, just like the leader in Shiktash. If he manages to help Fener stay in second place, Ozil will receive another £ 225,000 as a qualifier for the Champions League qualifiers (the first two in the Turkish league play in the qualifiers).

Meanwhile, the contact tweeted on his Twitter account the number “67”, apparently this is his new number at the Turkish club.
