Experimental Hero Experimental Update

The next test in Overwatch has begun. This time around, developers are looking to get your feedback from players on some of the latest balance changes. The company uses the Role Queue 2-2-2 rules rule to give players a sense of how these balance changes will affect the game while it’s live.

The following Hero updates are only made in Experimental:

Orisa

Confirm

  • Preventing headache damage is crucial while the effect is active

Developer comments: This will make Fortify more reliable in preventing large explosions of incoming damage and should help it feel more consistent as a defensive capability.

Reaper

Gun-gun Hellfire

  • The distribution was reduced from 8 to 6
  • Damage per project is reduced from 7 to 6

Developer comments: Reaper guns have great damage potential but require close range or large targets to make full use. We are now trying to smooth this out by expanding the range in which it can consistently deal damage while minimizing the maximum damage each bullet receives.

Winston

General

  • Weapons / Base Health was redistributed from 100/400 to 150/350

Developer comments: With this change, Winston will be a little more resistant to guns, behavior, and weapons with a high level of fire.

wrecking ball

Claw intervening

  • Knockback strength reduced by 25%

Developer comments: For as often as it can happen, Wrecking Ball impact can be too strong. The developers reduce the speed it moves enemy players to bring it more in line with other low cooldown slowdown abilities.

Developers have also recently used a small retail piece which can be seen below.

Bounty Hunter

  • Bounty targets will lose their target status if they take too long to get killed

Bugfix

  • You fixed a bug within the Bounty Hunter game mode where the Target status would not be available if the active Target left the game.

The new Overwatch update is now available across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC platforms.
