“Open already the bridge’s mother”: what is behind the tweet that broke the net

The tweet on the Arad municipality’s Twitter page managed to provoke the discourse around the opening of the Meitar interchange, which will take place this coming Thursday, thanks to the use of a quote from a sketch of “The Jews are coming.” In the tweet, which within a few hours had already broken the net, the caption appeared: “You will already open the bridge’s lama”, which is a successful and interesting reference to the famous gag “Close the band’s lama”. The surfers, who immediately understood the idea behind the trial that accompanied the picture of the southern, could not remain indifferent to the wit shown by the writers of the Arad municipality. Stand-up comedian Nadav Aboksis also liked the sarcastic message and wrote: “Dudi Amsalem in response; ‘There is a maniac who sits on the Arad municipality’s Twitter, and knows he is a maniac. But those up there do not know he is a maniac.” Amsalem, the digital and cyber minister, noticed Abacus’ response and replied with a wink: “I’m glad you’re following.” The Arad Municipality was quick to explain:

Many laughed at the hilarious tweet, which created a huge buzz for an inactive very active Twitter account, and stung back. “Someone here is going to be fired,” wrote one surfer, while another added: “The taste … probably bad. But the reference … is excellent.” Radio 103 also wrote: “And we thought ours had a dirty mouth.” Although the surfers quickly understood the source of the joke, the Arad municipality preferred not to leave the joke to the surfers’ understanding and was quick to explain the crude joke. Another tweet they posted read: “Well, it’s from here,” when below the jeweler the excerpt from which the sentence was taken.
