The data show that women reported side effects more significantly than men. The Ministry of Health noted that this phenomenon is also known from other vaccines. Also, in Pfizer’s corona vaccine young people are reporting more side effects.
Local side effects mainly included pain, redness and swelling or restriction in movement.
General side effects were general weakness (113), headache (97), and dizziness or fainting (83 cases) or fever (41).
Other neurological symptoms: Paralysis of the mouth is accompanied by a feeling of circumcision (presbyopia) – 55 cases, paralysis of the facial nerve (psoriasis) – 13 cases, seizures – 5 cases and one case of sudden loss of consciousness.

The Ministry of Health notes that most hospitalizations are due to a background illness – including a 76-year-old man with seizures, a 67-year-old with a stroke, a 64-year-old with an allergic reaction (and a possible causal link to the vaccine) and a 49-year-old with facial nerve palsy.
The Ministry of Health notes that “according to the analysis of data from the manufacturers and reports of side effects from the Ministry of Health, it can be determined that the symptoms reported so far are similar in frequency and character to other vaccines given to the population.”

A total of 4,500 corona patients were found positive after vaccination. 375 of them were hospitalized. The number of hospitalized decreases as time has elapsed since vaccination. Of those hospitalized, 244 were hospitalized in the first week after vaccination, 124 in the second week and seven more than 15 days after vaccination.
According to the Ministry of Health, “As time goes on, after two weeks, the number of positives to corona decreases among the vaccinated. After a first dose there is some protection for the vaccinated, but it is still not sufficient. This is an important message that the public is Japanese. Who is exposed to the virus immediately after the first dose “Hence the importance of continuing to maintain physical distance and wearing a mask.”
