In a new Twitter post, OnePlus founder and CEO Pete Lau delivered news that the company’s OnePlus 9 series smartphones have surpassed the OnePlus 8 series in day1 pre-orders more than three times.

After weeks of being crushed, OnePlus fully unveiled the OnePlus 9 series earlier in the week. The company announced a new partnership with Hasselblad that would help the company improve its cameras. The 9 and 9 Pro has a new 50MP ultrawide camera that sees a big improvement in low light and virtually eliminates lens distortion. Although the two phones have different main camera sensors, both of them are equipped with Hasselblad.
The new partnership has led to increased interest in OnePlus phones. That, and a recent shake-up of the company that has pumped out several midrange devices has raised brand awareness in global markets. In North America, the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro reached T-Mobile as the only partner, though Verizon didn’t pick up the new series this year.
