The affair between Eran Zehavi and PSV Eindhoven is short, but he knew quite a few ups and downs. It started well, then got tangled up with weird reports of difficulties in the locker room and now, makes an impression, balances – and the Netherlands knows how to appreciate. This morning (Thursday), the star received a slew of compliments on the good times from journalist Rick Alpernik covering the team.
“Zehavi is gaining momentum,” Alpernik wrote in “ED” about the Israeli star, who this week scored a second consecutive round and raised his goal balance to seven in all competitions. “Before the winter break, it was difficult to determine how the Israeli would contribute to Eindhoven. He started strong, but then fell on almost all fronts. There were excuses for that, but his performances worried PSV.”
“Since the winter break ended, Zahavi has become more valuable to the team,” Alpernik added. “Sometimes it’s hard for him to apply PSV’s game philosophy, but with five goals it looks like Zahavi is starting to close gaps. He got into shape just in time, just before the crucial weeks.”
Zehavi’s ability and the recent victory over Amen, jumped PSV to second place in the table. It was the third win in a row for the Reds-Whites, who raised their tally to 13 league wins, two losses and four draws in 19 games. Immediately behind them in the table is Eli Desa’s Vitsa, which absorbed a resounding 4: 1 from Venello last night. Will the Israeli duo succeed in threatening the rule of Ajax? time will tell.
