
The outbreak of the corona in Panathinaikos has led to the postponement of the two Euroleague games in Russia – Zenit St. Petersburg (February 17) and CSKA Moscow (February 19), the Euroleague announced tonight (Friday).
As you may recall, on Wednesday Oded Katash’s team stopped training after no less than 10 members of the club were found positive for the virus in the days – 3 new positives were found. Following this the club announced that they will carry out another round of tests.
The official statement issued by the Greek champions read: “Seven players and three professional staff members are being monitored by the club’s medical staff. Panathinaikos is following all the guidelines and is in constant contact with the authorities.”
EuroLeague Regular Season Round 6 and 25 games, Zenit St Petersburg – Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and CSKA Moscow – Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, which were scheduled to be played on Wednesday, February 17 and Friday, February 19, respectively, have been suspended.
