Martin Breithwhite, Score: 8
One can laugh and go on to say that he is not at the level of Barcelona, but sure light years from the level of the Israeli team. Answer to celebrate with a big goal and fantastic play
Eitan Tibi, Score: 3
He could not cope with Braithwaite, a game that the Maccabi Tel Aviv stopper would rather forget
The Israeli team opened the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign tonight (Thursday) with high hopes, which, unfortunately, were dashed very quickly. Willy Rotensteiner’s team, who again strangely chose to go up with the three-brake method that does not justify itself time and time again, surrendered 2: 0 to the Danish team, which simply cruised to an easy victory and did whatever it pleased at Bloomfield, with the result doing the team blue and white.
True, this is a rivalry with players playing every week at the highest levels and in the best teams on the continent, but nonetheless one could expect more from our team, which again failed in the lineup and failed to seriously threaten Caspar Schmeichel’s hair, who was left jobless. The Danes, for their part, have launched a campaign smoothly, Israel will now have to think about the next task – Scotland on Sunday, also at the stadium in Jaffa.

It seemed that maybe this time Rotensteiner would understand that the three-brake system does not do the team any good, but it did not happen again. The level gaps were evident right from the opening whistle, with Martin Braithwaite taking exactly 13 minutes to answer Moshe Celebrating (“Golden is better than Braithwaite”), and the Barcelona striker simply made fun of the host defense and scored after a wonderful personal operation and elegant finish, just like Expected from the Spanish runner-up striker.

Also the sequel was all about the guest. In the first half it seemed as if the Scandinavians had more players on the pitch, with our team taking time to even cross the halfway line. Miraculously, and after a few more misses by the players in red, the first 45 minutes ended with only a minimal advantage for the Scandinavians.

In the second half, Rochteiner “made a change.” Although he put in Neta Lavi, he remained in the line of three brakes when the place of Joel Abu Hanna, who was replaced for the second time in a row at the break, was filled by none other than Dor Peretz, who proves his ability to help the attacking game at Maccabi Tel Aviv every week, but fell back And played as a third stopper while the team needed a goal. Spoiler – This did not work either. The team did show signs of awakening but did not really bother the Danish defense, when on the other hand, our defense again erred in the 67th minute when a lack of concentration by Hatem Abdel Hamid led to a second by Jonas Wind who closed interest. By the end, the Danes could even increase the score, with the balls whistling in Ofir Marciano’s court. A disappointing loss to a team that will have to improve dramatically to make a good result on Sunday, this time against a team that is a little less strong and much more familiar in the form of Scotland.
