Newcastle Break: Ranking the 13 Most Training Fights

Things are not going particularly well for Newcastle United on the pitch at the moment.

Steve Bruce ‘s side are just three points above the relegation zone and look ready for a few weird months as they look to survive the relegation.

And their struggles on the pitch have boiled over the training ground.

According to a report in the Daily Mail, Bruce and Matt Ritchie clashed while trading discontent with the manager even interfering with the Scot.

It is understood that Ritchie has now apologized for his role in the ditch, in which he identified Bruce as a ‘coward’.

While training fights may be more common than we understand, they rarely involve the manager.

So how does that rank in the biggest areas of training in football?

We will look at:

13. Steve Bruce vs. Matt Ritchie

No punches were thrown. No injuries. Just a bit of argy-bargy. The fact that it includes a manager means that it would be worth getting a place on the list, however.

12. Joe Gomez vs Raheem Sterling

Probably the most famous body part was how the Liverpool and Manchester City stars defied English duty. Okay, this wasn’t just on the training ground as Sterling scratched Gomez’s face in the restaurant and put him in a lock.

11. Sergio Ramos vs Sergio Reguilon

Ramos trains while he plays and was unhappy when Reguilon challenged him roughly. The Real Madrid captain bounced back by kicking the ball at left back and Luka Modric had to settle.

10. Neymar vs. Nelson Semedo

Shortly before moving to Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar joined Semedo in an incident captured on camera. Neymar had to be held back by his teammates before they stormed out of training.

9. Mario Balotelli vs Roberto Mancini

We love it when managers get involved. After a bad tackle, Mancini tried to remove Balotelli from training by grabbing the bible and dragging him off the pitch. It took him a while to put that bib on, Roberto!

8. Aleksandar Mitrovic vs Aboubakar Kamara

One place you would not expect a body is a yoga session. But the Fulham duo went on to manage that with Mitrovic believing his team respected the yoga teacher. Just weeks earlier, Kamara had stolen the ball from the named penalty shooter Mitrovic to take a spot-kick that he missed.

7. Freddie Ljungberg vs Olof Mellberg

That’s how Sweden would have prepared for the 2002 World Cup when two of their biggest players were fighting. Ljungberg had no strong challenges from the defender and grabbed him by the neck and stabbed him to the floor.

According to the incident, the two players reunited in the dressing room after a game against Trinidad and Tobago.

6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic vs Oguchi Onyewu

Another Swede was back in his first spell at AC Milan. As a result a rib was broken for Zlatan as he had a fight with the Onyewu defender. In his own account, Zlatan wrote of the incident: “I beheaded him, and we flew together. We wanted to rip each other apart from members. It was brutal. We were rolling around, punching and kneeling each other. We were crazy and angry – it was like life and death. ”

5. Danny Drinkwater vs. Jota

Drinkwater’s loan spell at Aston Villa was unsuccessful and he was taken by the moment of rage in training. The Premier League winner beheaded Jota teammate, who was then told by Drinkwater: “I immediately apologized and had to go home. I texted immediately after he apologized and took full responsibility. Google also translated it into Spanish to make sure he understood. ”

4. Andy Carroll vs Steven Taylor

This deserves a No. 4 spot based entirely on the story behind it. Steven Taylor reportedly suffered broken straps after Andy Carroll found out the defender had been texting his partner. Apparently, both players needed surgery.

3. Thomas Gravesen vs. Robinho

As with many of these incidents, this began with rough training in training. Gravesen strongly challenged Robinho that Brazil was not happy about. But he chose the wrong boy because the Dane lost his head and started throwing punches.

2. Eyal Berkovic vs John Hartson

Hartson’s machine on Berkovic was a weapon for a brutal training case. Berkovic criticized Hartson before the Scottish striker kicked the Israelis in the head. Wow.

1. Joey Barton vs Dabo

The biggest training class we’ve ever heard. Barton was given a six-game ban and a suspended prison sentence in the fourth month for assaulting Dabo in training. Commenting on the events, Barton said “Dabo hit me at the training ground until he got caught.”
