A new promo of the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe show WandaVision is out. The series brings back MCU characters Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany Wanda Maximoff and Vision, respectively.
In the series Wanda and Vision live in the warmth of domestic, perfect suburbs that are marred by the gradual understanding that something is not right.
We know that Vision is dead, but Wanda, through her powers of manipulation of reality, may have changed the reality to live out the life she wanted with Vision.
This TV series seems to be inspired by House of M, a Marvel Comics storyline in which Wanda changes reality after suffering a mental breakdown. It was revealed earlier that this series would include Scarlet Witch mental illness as in the comics.
The promo won’t feature any plot material, but it does add more to the aura of weirdness that has been around this show. Simply put, WandaVision looks like the weirdest thing in an MCU, and that says something.
So far, this series looks like a mix of MCU cinematic style and classic sitcoms, and the mix looks weird but in an interesting and evocative way.
WandaVision is set after the events of Avengers: Endgame. It will first appear on Disney Plus Hotstar on January 15, 2021.
