New shooters reveal Gorgeous Diorama World of the RPG

Coming soon to Apple Arcade, Fantasian is an all-new RPG from Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and writer Nobuo Uematsu. To build hype for the game’s release, developer Mistwalker Corporation has unveiled new details and a pair of new drawers for Fantasian. The game is being billed by the company as a “Diorama Adventure RPG,” and will be featuring elegant hand-held environments for players to explore, as well as turn-based RPG play. The game’s storyline focuses on an amnesic hero named Leo on a journey to regain his memories and stop a mechanical disease that is sweeping the land. FantasianThe story trailer can be found at the top of this post.

In addition to the story trailer, a trailer focusing on the features of the game has also been released, which can be found below.

The diorama style of the game should give it a special presentation! More than 150 dioramas were created for Fantasian. Each of these environments was built by veterans from projects like the Godzilla and Ultraman films. The feature trailer gives viewers a brief overview of the dioramas seen there Fantasian, but players will have a much better chance of exploring them throughout the game.

Research will play a major role in Fantasian and the game’s steep battles are designed to give players greater access to explore the diorama environments at their leisure. That’s because Fantasian there will be a “Dimengeon Battle” mechanic. Players will have the option of inserting encountered enemies into an “individually sized pit.” After a few enemies are moved, players will be able to take on them all at once. According to the developer, the approach should give players more time to explore without number. It will be interesting to see if adding more monsters to one encounter makes fighting harder, though!

During Leo’s journey, players will have opportunities to fill in the gaps in his experience. Players can do this by finding in-game novels, featuring artwork, music and sound effects. Sakaguchi curates the game’s storyline, and it certainly looks like the kind of RPG that old-school Final Fantasy fans will want to keep an eye on over the coming weeks!
