Gideon Saar’s “New Hope” party announced tonight (Monday) to the Central Election Commission that it is the one behind the promotion of the articles that deal with the chairman of the right, Naftali Bennett, and present it in a negative light.
“Tikva Hadasha” responded that “the party announced through its representatives two weeks ago in all the media that it was behind the publications. Judge Vogelman himself ruled that in articles published and promoted there was ‘providing news to the public and expressing an opinion on the public agenda’.”
Bennett’s party said: “Make a surprised face – the party that funded defamatory articles anonymously against Bennett has been exposed. This is old politics, not new hope.”
As you may recall, the story began about two weeks ago, after it was announced that New Hope had promoted a series of sponsored articles, defaming the right and Bennett who heads it, and trying to present it in a negative light. In response, Bennett attacked Saar, who did not remain obligated, and attacked him back. In response, the right-wing party appealed to the Central Election Commission, in protest of a series of articles published by an online content promotion company, in which Bennett is portrayed as reckless, and with poor judgment. In response to the request, the lawyers of Tikva Hadash also responded.
