Netflix: Keshet has sold the company a new drama series

After producing series for international content bodies such as HBO, Apple and the BBC in the last decade – Keshet International is launching its first collaboration in producing a series with Netflix. A crime drama called “Diamonds” – “Diamonds”, developed by Keshet International and created by Rotem Shamir and Yuval Yefet (creators of “The Cops”) was sold by Keshet International to Netflix Worldwide.

The project will be co-produced by Keshet International and “De Mansen” – the leading production company in Belgium, for Netflix and the Belgian public broadcasting corporation – VRT. Yefet will serve as lead screenwriter and Shamir will direct the series together with Belgian director Cecilia Verheiden.

The plot, which speaks three languages ​​- Flemish, English and Yiddish – will take place mostly in the diamond district of Antwerp in Belgium and will follow the story of the ultra-Orthodox Wagner family engaged in the diamond trade. When the youngest member of the family commits suicide, his brother Noah, who is out of the question, returns from the United States while shrouded in mysterious intentions. He soon realizes that his seemingly successful family is on the verge of collapse and is involved in a dubious deal. Reach the depths of the dark and soft underbelly of the diamond trading world.

Filming is expected to begin in the summer and the series is expected to air during 2022 on Netflix and VRT.
