Between The Witch, Castlevania, and the future assassin’s Creed and Resident evil TV shows that currently represent them, Netflix has grown into a real product based on the franchise of popular video games. Now, a new rumor suggests that this trend could be followed again by a new series based around one of gaming’s most iconic fantasy buildings.
A new report has said that Netflix is looking to partner with Bethesda to create a new series based on The Elder Scrolls a series of video games. It first started in 1994, The Elder Scrolls has been one of the longest-running franchises in Bethesda with stand-alone entries in the mainline series including Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. When it comes to what the show would be about, it would be of a variety of live action. Netflix is also said to want this show to be just as big The Witch if it came to fruition.
As for where the rumor is coming from, it comes through one Daniel Ritchtman. In the past, Ritchtman has been a very reliable source and has scoops related to the film and television industries ahead of the time. So while you should definitely take this report with the usual salt grains, there may be some legitimacy to it.
As for how Bethesda could get close to a situation like this, well, there is history showing that they might be willing to play ball with Netflix. For those who don’t remember, Bethesda announced in 2020 that they are working with Amazon to create a TV series based on their other major franchise, Go and fight. While it remains to be seen whether the publishing label would want to work with two separate streaming companies to create TV shows at the same time, the previous move shows minimal interest. in exploring the world of television a little more.
Of course, there’s no confirmation that any of this is happening yet, but if this happens, you think we’ll hear more officially from Bethesda or Netflix in the future.
