Netanyahu hires journalist Breitbart as the head of a campaign

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has named a journalist with right-wing news site Breitbart, who wrote books challenging Barack Obama’s suitability as president, as the leader of his campaign for the March 23 national elections.

Aaron Klein, who has been a political strategist for Netanyahu since last year, confirmed his appointment on Wednesday.

Klein was a host of the U.S. radio show and deputy head of the Jerusalem bureau for Breitbart News. He was appointed by the site’s acting chairman at the time, Steven Bannon, who would then be a key strategist for Donald Trump.

Klein is the author of several books about Obama. They include: “President Manchurian: Barack Obama’s Relations with Communists, Socialists and Other Anti-American Terrorists”; “Fool Me Twice: Obama ‘s Great Plans for the Next Four Years Announced”; and “Accessible Crimes: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office.”

Netanyahu, who has fought in a tight re-election battle, has a long history of using American campaign advisers. One of his main opponents, Gideon Saar, hired several founders of “The Lincoln Project,” an anti-Trump Republican group, as advisors.

Netanyahu and Obama fought again and again during his time in office over Israeli policies toward Palestine and the nuclear agreement that the Obama administration was negotiating with Iran. President Joe Biden is expected to reverse many of these policies.

Netanyahu made no secret of his close relationship with Trump, who showed Israel with unparalleled support for his claims to areas he captured in the 1967 war that the Palestinians want for the future of the state .
