Cardtronics Plc is in talks to accept a $ 1.7 billion offer from NCR body, according to people familiar with the case, after an ATM operator went out Apollo Global Management Inc. and Hudson Capital Capital LP.

The companies could announce a contract as early as Monday, the people said, wanting not to be identified as the deal is private.

The Apollo consortium decided not to lift its offer, they said.

NCR earlier this month they offered to buy Cardtronics for $ 39-per-share, surpassing the $ 35-per-share that Apollo and its partner put up last year.

Shares of Cardtronics closed Friday at $ 40.86 in New York, giving the England-based company Hatfield a market value of about $ 1.8 billion.

A representative for Cardtronics and Apollo declined to comment. NCR and the Hudson Government could not be reached immediately.
