NBA Postpones Dallas Mavericks game with New Orleans Pelicans thanks to Covid-19

The taps come for the Dallas Mavericks. Their Monday night game against the New Orleans Pelicans was postponed due to issues with Covid-19, the Dallas Morning News reports.

“The National Basketball Association matches scheduled tonight between the New Orleans Pelicans and Dallas Mavericks at American Airlines Arena and tomorrow between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls at United Center have been postponed in accordance with Health and Safety Protocols the league, ”the league said in a statement.

The report also reveals that the NBA and NBPA are meeting Monday to change existing health and safety protocols.

Mavericks star Luka Doncic took to Twitter shortly after the news to comment on the situation with an emoji.

This is just the latest in a series of coronavirus problems for the body. Over the weekend, four Dallas Mavericks players will go into quarantine due to exposure to the virus. On Friday, news broke that Jalen Brunson, Dorian Finney-Smith and Josh Richardson stayed in Denver for quarantine after the Mavericks played the Nuggets on Thursday night. At least one of them was positive.

On Sunday, Mavericks kicked off Maxi Kleber on his own after his appearance. The Mavericks closed their facility that day. Other players are not expected to enter quarantine due to contact with Kleber.

Kleber’s situation is slightly different from the situation of his three-team captures in Denver. The NBA’s official Injury Report lists him as a questioner for Monday’s game rather than ruling it out altogether. It does, however, fall under league-controlled health and safety protocols.

“We’re dealing with a major situation,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Saturday. “We must remain calm and always plan for hostility. We have hoped that such a thing was possible, and now we are dealing with it. ”

according to reports, Kristaps Porzingis Mavericks Center would have made its first season on Monday night as well. Fans who want to see it in action will have to wait a little longer for it to return.

A total of four games have now been postponed when the Mavericks and Pelicans game was postponed Monday and Tuesday between the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls.

The Mavericks are expected to be on the road for the rest of the week. They travel to Charlotte to play the Hornets on Wednesday and then to Milwaukee to face the Bucks on Friday.
