NASA shares a stunning image of ‘Mars freezing sand dunes’; netizens in surprise

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) officially took to Instagram and shared an amazing image of Mars’s frozen sand dunes. The Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) has captured the image with its HiRISE camera. Surprised by the photo, netizens prompted the comments section to share their thoughts.

Mars sand dunes captured

In the post, NASA has reported that Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has captured the image of freezing sand dunes. They reported that a sand dune field is inhabited by a stretch extending for five kilometers found in the high latitudes of the northern regions of Mars. The streaks and other features in the images are the result of the sublimated ice that comes with the ‘thaw season’. They asked more of the users about the year Mars Reconnaissance Orbitor had arrived on Mars. They have outlined four options 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 for response. Check out the post.

Since it was uploaded on Twitter, the image has gathered to 680K likes and has collected comments from netizens. Some of the users in their comments responded to the question asked by NASA. Earlier, the International Space Station (ISS) captured the Earth from a round glass window. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has posted pictures of how the Earth looks from space on their Instagram handle. The images were captured by NASA astronaut Mike Hopkins Hopkins while he rested from his work in space. In the post, NASA has mentioned that the image was taken from the window of the Crew Dragon Resilience dock. They also wrote that Mike and his three teammates have been at the International Space Station since November 2020.
