SpaceX regularly launches hardware into space, but it typically uses its Falcon 9 rockets. While these rockets are powerful, they are not strong enough to allow a space station to launch, so SpaceX will instead use its Falcon Heavy rocket, which is much more powerful but also much more expensive. That’s where the $ 330 million price tag comes in.

NASA has selected Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) of Hawthorne, California, to launch launch services for the organization’s power and mobility element (PPE) and Outpost Habitation and Logistics (HALO), the founding elements of the Gateway. As the first long-distance orbit around the Moon, the Gateway is critical in supporting sustainable astronaut missions under the organization’s Artemis program.

These two parts are basically at the heart of the Lunar Gate. In the future, NASA envisages a spacecraft flying to the Gate, a dock there, and then traveling to and from the Lunar Surface using a separate vehicle. Then, when the surface work is complete, they would fly back to the Gate, dock that spaceship, and go home in the same ship they reached.
