Napoli were confident in the rightness of their way – and tonight (Tuesday) it came in handy: the club won an appeal against the technical loss (3-0) to Juventus and the point was dropped, and the game with the old lady will take place on 13 January.
As you may recall, the Blues did not appear for the game that was scheduled to take place on October 4 in Turin, after two of the players on the roster were found positive for Corona. Also, Napoli had played just a few days earlier against Genoa, where many positive players for the virus were discovered.
Napoli claimed that the local health authority had ordered them not to go to the away game against the champion, but the Italian association was not impressed – and set a severe penalty in the form of a technical loss and a drop of a point. Napoli appealed twice, losing twice – but did not give up. Now, as mentioned, she has come out hired.
As a result of the victory on the third appeal, a point was returned to Napoli’s balance – and it is now with 24 points. Juventus, whose technical victory was canceled of course, dropped those three points and is now also with 24 points on the balance sheet.
