Motoriz’s Ibiza is showing up on GeekBench with the Snapdragon 480 chip under the hood

After launching the Motorola Edge S in early 2021, Motorola is preparing to launch more 5G devices this year. The Motorola Edge S was an updated flagship device that featured the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The company is now looking to launch some devices for the mid-range, entry-level segment that come with 5G support.

Motorola had launched the Moto G 5G and plastic year of the Moto G 5G Plus, two mid-range 5G devices, and an entry-level 5G device is coming up – the Motorola Ibiza.

The new Motorola Ibiza was spotted on the Geekbench website with the model number XT2137-2, as reported.

The smartphone comes with the codename Motorola Ibiza and this is probably the first Motorola device to come with the Snapdragon 480 SoC under the hood. Announced last month, the Snapdragon 480 is Qualcomm’s most affordable SoC for the 5G segment. So far, only the Vivo Y31s and the Oppo A93 5G have integrated this SoC into their devices.

The Snapdragon 480 SoC will deliver the Kryo 460 performance collars based on the Cortex-A76 clock at 2.0GHz along with more powerful A55 cores working at 1.8GHz, Gizchina reports. This CPU averaged 2,466 points in the single-core test run and 6,223 points in the multi-core segment. These numbers may look high since they were performed on Geekbench 4 tests. Geekbench tests will show 5 lower figures.

Other specifications include 6GB RAM, a water pound display with HD + resolution and possibly a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support.

The new Geekbench update coincides with a previous listing on Wi-Fi Alliance which revealed that the Motorola Ibiza will come with dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and will run Android 11 directly -out of the box.

The Motorola Ibiza can be released along with the rumored Motorola Capri series.
