More violations of the nuclear deal: Iran continues to enrich uranium with Natanz

Iran continues to enrich uranium using advanced IR-2m centrifuges for a second time at the Natanz nuclear site, the International Atomic Energy Agency announced today (Tuesday).

In December, Iran also notified the International Atomic Energy Agency of its intention to install such centrifuges at the site. “The agency has approved the installation of two of the three IR-2m centrifuges and now, Iran is working to activate the third of its contents,” the agency report said.

This is a repeated violation of the 2015 nuclear deal, and another time Iran puts US President-elect Joe Biden to the test. Also in December, Iran announced to the International Atomic Energy Agency its intention to install IR-2m waterfalls at the site. This is in contrast to estimates that the explosion at the nuclear facility could delay the nuclear program by about two years.

Also, about a month ago, it was announced that a law had been enacted in Iran, seeking to remove atomic energy inspectors from across the country, but this law was conditioned on the sanctions being lifted by it until February 21.
