Monster Hunter Rise: April 2021 Free Update Adds Apex Rathalos and Chameleos

Monster Hunter Rise ‘s first free title update comes in late April and will include Chameleos, Apex Rathalos, an unlocked “Hunter Rank” cap, and more.Capcom reveals Title Update Ver details. 2.0 in a blog post, while also noting that some additional monsters and “a few other related features” will be added as well.

Apex Rathalos seems to be part of the Rampage hunt, which is a mix between traditional Monster Hunter game and tower defense game. Apex monsters, like the Apex Arzuros, are very strong versions of monsters that sometimes override these challenges.

Title Update Ver. 3.0 has also been tweaked and, while it doesn’t have a release window right now, it promises to “feature monsters as well as a finish in addition to the Monster Hunter Rise story arc.”

In our Monster Hunter Rise review, we said it “mixes the classic ideas of Monster Hunter with some of the best developments in the world and a handful of clever new mechanics of their own.”
