Pakistan international Mohammad Wasim has been named as the top men’s national team selector, taking over from Misbah-ul-Haq.
Wasim has been given the assignments until the next ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023 and his first assignment will include selection for the two upcoming trials and a T20I three-match series against Africa South.
“I have been very fortunate to play with some of the best cricketers and I am confident that I can achieve what I have learned in this challenging role,” said Wasim, who represented Pakistan. in 18 Tests and 25 ODI between 1996 and 2000.

He said: “We have a busy 2021 year ahead of us and I will focus on being positive about elections that not only address our short-term needs but meet our long-term ambitions. half of us in Pakistan and it is important that they get opportunities.

Pakistan has also named former wicketkeeper Saleem Yousuf as head of the PCB Cricket Committee, another post held by Misbah earlier.
