MK Golan: “Meretz will sit in government under attack”

Will Meretz sit under a right-wing government? MK Yair Golan, No. 3 on the Meretz list, tweeted this morning (Thursday) on his Twitter account that the party will agree to sit under Gideon Saar, chairman of “New Hope” – in case he replaces Netanyahu.

In a tweet, Golan wrote: “They asked me if Meretz would be under attack if he replaced Netanyahu, and I said yes,” Golan wrote. “But history proves that the center-right people are breaking down and sitting in Bibi’s corruption government. Kahlon, Handel, Hauser and of course Ganz – they all broke their promise to vote. Only a vote for Meretz will certainly not go to Netanyahu, because only Meretz can be trusted.”

Meanwhile, the Meretz party published this morning (Thursday) the list that will run in the upcoming Knesset elections. The list will be officially submitted at 4 p.m.

At the top of the list will be Meretz chairman, MK Nitzan Horowitz, second on the list is former party chairman Tamar Zandberg, third in line is MK Yair Golan. Further down the list are (in that order): Jida Rinawi-Zoabi, Former MK Issawi Frij, former MK Musi Raz, former MK Michal Rosin, Adv. Gabi Lasky, who specializes in human rights, educator Ali Salala and social activist Katie Piasecki.

Meretz said: “The list shows full gender equality, historical Jewish-Arab partnership, many years of experience in struggles in the Knesset and civil society, achievements and determination.
