While Israel is in the midst of its third coronavirus lockout, Transport Minister Miri Regev was caught on camera holding a birthday party in her office in violation of health rules agreed by the government of which she is a member.
While the restrictions – which Regev voted for as a cabinet member of the coronavirus – prohibit public gatherings of more than five insiders, the minister is seen along with at least 14 other people.

None of those in attendance were wearing face masks or wearing social media in the photos posted by DemocratTV Israeli journalist Perry.
A spokeswoman for Regev said she only “passed for a few minutes” and was “even telling those present that they do not have to lose rules. “
However, the photos show that Regev did not have a face mask while she was present in the room.
Under locking restrictions, public gatherings are limited to 10 outdoors and five in enclosed spaces. These restrictions have even led to police officers ordering people to leave public parks and other places.
This is not the first time the minister has been recorded violating public health rules.

In July, Regev attended a reception for the opening of a new exchange in Ashkelon attended by dozens of people, almost none of them wearing face masks or monitoring social distance.
“We are not just following the guidelines of the Ministry of Health,” she said during the ceremony. “Next time, we will make sure it happens.”
