Minister Regev celebrated the birthday of an employee in her office

While millions of Israelis are being locked up and receiving fines for violating the restrictions, Transport Minister Miri Regev was documented yesterday (Tuesday) celebrating the birthday of one of her bureau employees. There were 14 people sitting in the room, while the restrictions imposed by the government – including the support of Regev – allow a gathering of up to five people in a closed space. If that wasn’t enough, while the restaurants have been closed for months – Regev and her people were documented around a table full of food, without masks and without maintaining social distance.

The photo, published by Democrat TV journalist Israel Fry, shows the minister sitting at the top of the table surrounded by 13 other workers – all without masks – during a birthday dinner for one of the workers. The minister’s office explained that the minister only passed by for a few minutes and even “commented to those present on the duty to refrain from deviating from the procedures,” but at the same time she did not wear a mask herself and the corona instructions were not kept in the room she entered.

According to regulations, a gathering in a closed space is allowed up to five people and in an open space up to ten people. As a result, for example, the police increased their activities and blocked the public square on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv.

Last July, Regev was a guest at the opening ceremony of the Ashkelon North interchange and then admitted that “we are not exactly within the limits set by the Ministry of Health. Next time it will not happen.”

Minister of Transportation Miri Regev’s office said: “Minister Regev attended for a few minutes to mark the birthday of an employee at the office. “As a capsule in recent months in the workplace. Under the minister’s guidance, the procedures have been sharpened, in order to ensure that these cases do not recur in the future.”
