In a letter to the Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz, Cohen wrote: “During this period I did my best to advance the needs of the senior citizens of Israel, including promoting the public of Holocaust survivors. All this and more I did in partnership with dedicated employees “First of all, they work with great professionalism and commitment in order to provide essential social services on a daily basis. I would like to thank them for their work, and for the many achievements we have achieved together, in such a short time.”
Meirav Cohen is the ninth in number to leave Blue and White in the last two weeks. About a week ago, the Minister of Science and Technology, Yizhar Shai Lagantz, announced that he would not run in the upcoming Knesset elections in a blue and white setting. Other Knesset members who resigned from the Blue and White Party: Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi, MK Miki Haimovich, MK Assaf Zamir, MK Ram Shefa, MK Michal Kotler-Wench, former Justice Minister Avi Nissenkorn and MK Einav Kabala .
“Gantz blabbered on navigating, we need to get back on track”
Yesterday, Cohen and Lapid held a joint press conference, at which the chairman of Yesh Atid announced that the chances of running together with blue and white are low.
Minister Cohen also spoke at the event and said: “The last few months have not been easy and they have led me to this day, to this decision, not easily. I believed that the right thing is that Blue and White will return to partnership with Yesh Atid and Yair Lapid, “Three times under Gantz’s leadership, now is the time for Lapid to lead the desired change. I have worked hard for this unification of forces, but unfortunately blue and white have chosen not to go that route.”
Cohen conveyed a message to Gantz by ostensibly “blabbering on about navigation,” saying: “In the last two years, unsurprisingly, I’ve learned quite a few images from the military world. And I allow myself to describe my decision today in that language. “On the right track. For me, this point is the partnership with Yesh Atid.”
