Daniel Medvedev Celebrates (Reuters)
A Russian “derby” was held this morning (Wednesday) at the Australian Open and at the end Daniel Medvedev qualified for the semi-finals with a three-set victory over Andrei Rublev, 5: 7, 3: 6 and 2: 6.
The two that are in the top 10 of the world rankings competed for a place among the last four, but Medvedev (4) was better than Rublev (7) and in the third set he achieved two quick breaks that allowed him to sail to a fairly smooth victory.

Women: Mojoba vs. Brady in the semifinals
Local Ashley Barty, ranked first in the world, missed an opportunity to advance to the semifinals and although she won the first set easily, she lost in the next two to Czech Carolina Mohova (25) and in the final 6: 1, 3: 6 and 2: 6.
Mochova will meet in the semifinals Jennifer Brady (22) who defeated Jessica Pegola in three sets in the American “Derby”. In this meeting, too, the loser won the first set, but Brady went on to win 6: 4, 2: 6 and 1: 6. As you may recall, Osaka and Serena Williams’ speeches will compete in the second semifinal.
