But goofy groom Troy Delmege has dealt with his fair share of not-so-funny health issues since he made a name for himself on the series three years ago.
The 38-year-old man was diagnosed with Blastocystis hominis – a microscopic parasite that lived in the digestive tract – for five months during the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘I actually had a parasite for about six months,’ he told co-star Elizabeth Sobinoff on the first part of the two-part series of the MAFS Grand Reunion special on Sunday.
Speaking to Women’s Day on Monday, Troy said he was plagued with upset stomach, malaise and severe weight loss during the tragic crisis.
‘I lost about 10kg. I’m a slim person – I don’t have much pressure to play with – so times were really hard, ‘said the IT worker.
”[I had some] very anxious months, where I was not sure what was going to come, and what the situation was. ‘

‘I wanted to go out and meet people, and I couldn’t do that. I was asking ‘Am I going to find anyone?’. But, fortunately, 2020 has come to an end and we have clearer times ahead, ‘Troy told the publication.
On Friday, Troy made a rare TV show on Channel Nine’s Today show ahead of the long-awaited MAFS Grand Reunion, which premiered on Sunday.

Troy then spoke of a memorable scene from MAFS in which he vigorously brushed his teeth in a rabid dog – like manner.
‘It never changes, and hopefully they look sleek right now!’ Troy said, before lighting his pearl whites for the camera.
Troy’s brutal toothbrush went viral when he first started on MAFS, and he caused such a move that was played even in front of millions on The Ellen Show in America.
