Manitoba falls short of COVID-19 vaccine criteria to fill vacancies – Winnipeg

The province of Manitoba is making small changes to its criteria by which frontline health care workers receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

Of the 900 jobs available this week, about 300 are still open for recruitment.

The province now says that if you meet the following criteria, you will get the picture:

  • Emergency care workers born on or before December 31, 1980 (formerly December 31, 1970)
  • Long-term care workers born on or before December 31, 1962 (formerly December 31, 1960)
  • Intensive care workers born on or before December 31, 1960
  • COVID-19 vaccine clinic staff

The department’s vaccination emergency line is open from 6 am to 8 pm daily until meetings are filled.

The province says it hopes to include the next 900 Manitobes between Monday, Dec. 21 and Wednesday, Dec. 23 at the University of Manitoba’s Rady Health Faculty campus.
