Maccabi Haifa defeated Petah Tikva and will play in the top house

Today (Friday) the teams that will play in the upper house and in the lower house of the Athena Winner League for women in basketball have been determined. Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan and Maccabi Phoenix Haifa secured their place in the top house, after finishing the regular league with victories over the girls of Herzliya and Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva respectively.

The games will open on Monday, March 29, with the teams dragging with them the score they gained during the regular season. At the end of the games in the upper house and in the lower house, the finals of the basket series will be held.

These are the Upper House games this coming Monday, March 29, 2121: Elitzur Neve David Ramla – Maccabi Phoenix Haifa, Elitzur Leica Holon – Maccabi Urban Raj, Maccabi Ben Ashdod – Herzliya. And in the lower house will play: Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva – AS Ramat Hasharon and Hapoel Rishon Lezion Maccabi Raanana.

Maccabi Phoenix Haifa – Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva 48:72

Maccabi Phoenix Haifa won the last ticket to the top house thanks to a big victory, after a convincing 48:72 victory over Hapoel Bnei Petah Tikva. Fionda Fitzgerald excelled in the game with 22 points alongside Tiana Moldero who scored 11 points and dropped 14 rebounds.

Haifa led 16:19 at the end of the first quarter and went down to the half with a double-digit advantage of 28:38. In the third quarter it went up to 31:43 and 36:62 and by the end nothing had changed.

Herzliya Girls – Maccabi Urban Ramat Gan 78:72 (40:31)

Eden Rotberg and the new foreigner Kwandia Wallace led Maccabi Urbani Ramat Gan to the top house after a game in which they each scored 19 points.

43 seconds to go, Herzliya’s Pollard Najai shrank to 76:72, but Shkwandia Walsh, who replaced Natisha Heidemann in Ramat Gan, scored the 2 most important points in the game. 17 seconds to go, they sealed the result of the game that secured Ramat Gan’s place in the top flight.

Ramat Gan started well and finished the first quarter at 11:20. In the second quarter, Ramat Gan’s advantage was maintained and the teams went down to half at 31:40 for coach Roy Lazar’s team.

In the third quarter, Herzliya opened with 5:10 and shrank to 45:41. In the last quarter, Ramat Gan opened a double-digit advantage 48:58 with a time of 7:50 minutes to go.

Holon, which secured its place in the upper house, won a 70:84 away victory over Maccabi Raanana, which will play in the lower house. Holon finished the first quarter in 19:27 and went down to the half with a 38:47 advantage. In the third quarter, six and a half minutes to go, the result was 63:65 for Holon, but from here Holon maintained its advantage.

Elitzur Neve David Ramla – Maccabi Ben Banot Ashdod 74:86

Coach Shira Elyon’s team was more determined and recorded an important victory over Ashdod ahead of the meetings between them in the Upper House.

Ramla finished the first quarter at 15:30 and went down to the half with a 36:50 advantage. In the third quarter, Ramla’s advantage continued to 45:71 and was maintained until the end.

AS Ramat Hasharon – Elitzur Rishon LeZion 86:82 (43:43)

Rishon Lezion finished the regular season with an 82:86 away win over Ramat Hasharon.

Rishon led in the first quarter 24:27 and the teams went down to the half in 43:43.

In the third quarter, Rishon LeZion ran to 55:67 and maintained its advantage over the finish.

The two groups will meet in the lower house.
