Luca Trailer: The Next Pixar is a compelling story of friendship and acceptance in the Italian Riviera

Here is a teaser trailer for the next Pixar Luca movie. The film is set in a beautiful, sunny town on the Italian Riviera. The coming-of-age story follows two young boys who are mysteriously sea creatures and adopt their true forms when in contact with water.

First things first, visually, the film looks pretty impressive. The setting definitely makes good visuals. The colors are vibrant, but not gaudy, and the quality of the environment and models that Pixar has started remain unmatched by their peers.

Pixar films over the years have explored complex subjects in a clear way, subjects that live action rarely handle that well. In these movies, a lot always goes under the surface. The movies are both fun and child friendly but nonetheless, they can deal with topics like death as well. And Luca seems to be a very different film (in a good way) from the visual animation studio. It will address issues such as adoption and childhood relationships.

Many on social media have been calling it animated Call Me By Your Name. Probably with a bit of the Water Form thrown in.

Jacob Tremblay, Jack Dylan Grazer, Emma Berman, Maya Rudolph, Marco Barricelli, and Jim Gaffigan feature in the voice team.

Luca’s official summary reads, “Set in a beautiful beach town on the Italian Riviera, the original Disney and Pixar film“ Luca ”is a coming-of-age story about one young boy who ‘get an uncertain summer full of gelato, pasta and endless scooter. tours. Luca shares these adventures with his best friend, but all the fun is in secret in secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the surface of the water. ”

Luca will release on June 18, 2021.
