The Los Angeles Chargers have announced they have parted ways with head coach Anthony Lynn after four seasons in charge of the team.

Lynn was hired as Mike McCoy’s replacement in 2017 before leading the team to a 9-7 record in his first season, later in his second year by leading the Chargers 12-4 to the playoffs where they were eventually defeated by the New England. Patriots in the Regional Tour.

After falling to 5-11 in 2019 behind aging Philip Rivers, the Chargers fell to another losing season at 7-9 in 2020 despite each of their last four games to win.

In a team official statement, owner Dean Spanos said: “This morning I informed Anthony Lynn that we have decided to part ways with him as our head coach. “As we all know, this is a results-driven business and, quite simply, the results of the last two years have been eye-catching. “Our fans need to know that the Los Angeles Chargers are promising stable, successful football. The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.”
