A trailer for HBO Max’s Locked Down is out. The Doug Liman film, set at the time of the coronavirus lock, features Anne Hathaway and Chiwetel Ejiofor as a couple dealing with marital issues.
Linda and Paxton have almost decided to separate when the pandemic strikes and are subsequently locked up, and are, well, locked inside their home. One thing leads to another, and they find themselves designing a jewelry heist.
The film looks not only uniquely entertaining, but also retrospective in so many ways. Even the humor in the film seems to have been torn away from what almost all of us have gone through in much of 2020.
The concept, despite how similar our lives are, feels new.
The official summary states, “Just as they decide to separate, Linda (Anne Hathaway) and Paxton (Chiwetel Ejiofor) discover that life has other plans when they are stuck at the house in compulsory locking. Cohabitation is a challenge, but inspired by poetry and lots of wine, it will bring them closer together in the most amazing way. ”
Locked Down will release on HBO Max on January 14. As the service is not available in India, there is no way now to watch it here.
