On Sunday, five days before Santa arrived, Lizzo surprised her mother, Shari Johnson-Jefferson, and gave him a new car for Christmas.
‘My mother Audi got a new Audi for Xmas,’ the singer, 32, said on Instagram along with a video of the emotional gift moment that saw her mother shed tears of joy over her daughter ‘s generosity.

The video begins with Johnson-Jefferson led outside her home with her eyes closed as several family members appeared to be expecting.
‘Okay, Christmas courtship – open your eyes,’ said Lizzo (born Melissa Viviane Jefferson) from behind the camera with joy just as her mother is led to turn left.
With her hands gently tied together, her mother opened her eyes and began to cry at the sight of her new black Audi which ended with a red bow on top of the front hood.

‘I remember crying in my car when my father passed away, with no work and no money to live on, wishing I could one day prepare for my family,’ said Lizzo in the caption.

Lizzo’s father, Michael Jefferson, died in 2010 while a student of music scholarship at the University of Houston. Her death threw her into a deep mood.
