England’s efforts to combat childhood food poverty during the coronavirus epidemic have drawn praise from all quarters
Jordan Henderson has paid homage to Marcus Rashford ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League rivalry with Manchester United at Anfield.
Rashford has elevated his status from footballer to national treasurer following the pandemic of coronavirus, thanks to his efforts in fighting against child food poverty in the United Kingdom.
Jurgen Klopp said in October that he was proud of Rashford, which has maintained its online form with 14 goals and nine assists in all competitions so far this season.
Henderson knows there will be no room for upset when the teams go off on Sunday but, in his program notes ahead of the game, he praised Rashford ‘s off – field work – and he certainly would. the rest of Merseyside pleased the same.

“For once, I have to put aside competitions to pay homage to one of United’s players and I have no doubt that our fans will support me without question because he is Marcus Rashford, ”Henderson wrote.
“What Marcus has done over the last 12 months is amazing. He has fought against food poverty, given a voice to children who never were and used his own reputation for the benefit of others. Every compliment that came his way, and every award he won as a result, not only deserves it, it may not do him justice.
“Andy Robertson rarely made a good point when he said that Marcus was the first United player to take a firm stand from the people of Anfield. For obvious reasons this cannot happen, but I hope Marcus knows that he is fully respected by everyone at Liverpool Football Club.
“It is not always fair that it is the duty of footballers to set an example to the rest of society – we are just young lads who are lucky enough to work in sport when it comes to it. so far – but there is no question that Marcus is an example to everyone.
“I reckon I’m lucky to see him as a team player with England, but today that doesn’t count for anything and knowing Marcus wouldn’t be any other way. This is a day for conflict and a day for those of us in red Liverpool to give up everything we have for our cause because that is just the rest- this furniture wants. ”
Henderson also praised the late Gerry Marsden, Liverpool hymn singer You’ll Never Walk Alone, who recently passed away at the age of 78.
“Finally, today is the first time You’ll Never Walk Alone has been played at Anfield since Gerry Marsden passed away,” said Henderson. “You don’t have to be a Liverpool fan to get find out how special this song is to everyone associated with our club and no matter how many times I hear it, it always gives me goosebumps. ”
