Liverpool, following you: 2: 6 to United over Leeds

Beginning of an article

After a disappointment in the derby and almost tripping in front of the table lock, Manchester United exploded: the Red Devils crushed Leeds with a powerful display that ended in a resounding 2: 6 and rose to third place in the table a point away from second-placed Leicester and five points from leading Liverpool.

So United may not have made the list in the last couple of league games, but they still recorded tonight (Sunday) a seventh Premier League game without a loss. In the next round, a battle for the top spot awaits her for second place against Leicester City. Leeds, on the other hand, lost a chance to cling to the top and remained in 14th place, three points above Arsenal.

United’s night, how to say, started with a storm – to say the least. In just three minutes, Scott McTominy scored a double and became the first player in Premier League history to do so. “He dressed up as Paul Scholes and Roy Cain in the first two minutes,” complimented former commentator and actor Gary Neville.

But if you thought Shaular Gunnar Solskjaer and his trainees would get off the gas, you were wrong and big time! Already in the 20th minute Bruno Fernandez also got on the board and scored the third, when in the 37th minute Victor Lindloff also joined the celebration and arranged for Anthony Martial to cook a second. Just before the break (42), Liam Cooper scored a consolation goal to win Leeds.

The second half, as expected, opened in a much less turbulent way. This time, no goals were scored in the first two minutes and the Devils waited until the 66th minute, so Daniel James scored the fifth from the same McTumini cooking from the opening. Bruno Fernandez’s penalty (72) and a shrinking goal from Stuart Dallas (73) set up the game.
