11.15am local time / 5.45am IST: Water reaches SCG

Rain has been predicted and here it is! It is largely a pitch covered with the umpires outside under the angles after the players moved off the field. Andrew McGlashan from the ground: “A line of showers is coming up from the south. Today was the day with the highest chance of a break. The forecast for the next four days is good.” Twelve minutes after the players left, the rain has stopped and the covers are coming off.

It will be interesting to see if this adds any swing once the play starts. At the same time, there has been a lot of debate on social media about the closure of Mayank Agarwal. Was it fair to leave it out? Vote in the poll below:

11am local time / 5.30am IST: Siraj takes Warner away for 5

Stay tuned for 18 minutes for Warner. He was running those slick singles with visible discomfort in his groin, wanting to reverse the strike, and falling after showering well outside twice in a row off Siraj . On the second ball of the fourth over he went after a man who went away from the outside, and when Siraj pushed him further and a tad more complete the next member, Warner did not move his legs enough to get close to the ball while it was running, and go down first. Pucovski, meanwhile, goes well outside while walking across the stocks a bit, and got a bouncer in the first outing from Bumrah. There will be no swing at all in this park although there was a bit of rain before the test, and a few more are expected today and tomorrow. Australia 18 for 1 after the first half hour. “Looks like a great batting route,” Glenn McGrath says on TV report.

10.35m local time / 5.05m IST: Warner and Pucovski walk out

Boy, will Australia be excited when Warner returns. It’s still not 100% appropriate after being injured, but because of the nature of this series and what’s involved, Australia has decided to play it, in partnership with debate. Tim Paine said Warner’s toss “high energy” will support their “confidence”. Not to forget, Australia have continued their slowest home series of the century to date, just ahead of the 2018-19 series that also did not feature Warner. Pucovski, on the other hand, has been around the established test for nearly a year now, has a history of concussion injuries, and is on his way into the Test XI with plenty of running in it. the domestic cricket. Here’s more on Pucovski’s journey so far.

10.10am local time / 4.40am IST: Two more debates in the series

After Cameron Green in Adelaide, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Siraj at the MCG, we have two others as expected: Will Pucovski and Navdeep Saini. Pucovski gave the cap to Andrew McDonald and Saini to Jasprit Bumrah. Australia have opted for a batting, with David Warner replacing Travis Head, and Matthew Wade moving down to midfield. For India, we already knew yesterday that Rohit Sharma will open with Mayank Agarwal handed over the ax, with Saini making his first appearance as Umesh Yadav has flown back home.

Speaking of fast archers, Jasprit Bumrah, Siraj and Saini have India speed battery with their combined test experience of 17 the support of Australian Tally of 144, thanks to Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. That’s one thing Australia will be excited about not having to change their attack from the first Test.

10am local time / 4.30am IST: More reports of doubts about the fourth trial in Brisbane

And we have news coming in already, even before the coin has been turned. Here is Andrew McGlashan with the Australian brewing for the Brisbane Test:

Cricket Australia will seek clarification from the BCCI following further suggestions that India would not travel to Brisbane for the final Test but maintain that they were not informed of concerns. And a report said Thursday morning that the BCCI had officially written to CA saying they did not want to go to Brisbane. However, ESPNcricinfo understands that the updated plans for the Gabba Test, following the Covid-19 revolution in Sydney that led to border restrictions to Queensland, were agreed with BCCI office carriers on December 29 and did not complaints have since been received.

CA has been largely dealing with BCCI secretary Jay Shah and it is understood he will seek further talks Thursday.

Players are not limited to their rooms when at the team’s hotels in Sydney and Brisbane – which are wholly booked by Cricket Australia – and are able to mix in common areas. The only difference is that the restrictions in Sydney are CA protocols while those in Brisbane are imposed by the Queensland government as terms to grant relief.

Hello everyone and a warm welcome to the third Test of this exciting series which is at level 1-1. Another test, maybe another debating set (at least one has been confirmed from India), another tight race for WTC points and ICC rankings (New Zealand is now at the top), another selection debate , another discussion on who is going to make it open, and much more. I steal Tim Paine’s words and just say that “tension is starting to boil beneath the surface”.
