Leo Messi, Score: 9
The Flea introduced another brilliant game and kept Barça close to Atletico with an ingenious pair from afar and wonderful cooking
Osman Dembele, Score: 5
The Frenchman was the weak link in the Catalans’ attack and failed to make a positive impact on the game
After the painful relegation from the Champions League, Barcelona returned tonight (Monday) to the Spanish league, and at least in the local framework – the Catalans have proven that they are alive and kicking. Ronald Koeman’s team easily beat the lock of the table 1: 4, thus reducing the gap from Atletico Madrid leading to only four points. The game, like all Spanish league games, was broadcast on Channel ONE for HOT subscribers, yes subscribers, Cellcom TV and Partner TV.
The host enjoyed another performance by Leo Messi, who signed an excellent performance in which he equaled Xavi as the team’s top scorer in all competitions (767) with an outstanding duo off the field en route to 21 league goals and a brace for Oscar Mingsa, who recorded a team debut. Barça have not had too many games left this season and the team is definitely proving that the double dream is possible.
The Dutch coach chose to come up with a lineup exactly identical to the one he started at the Parc de France against PSG with three brakes, but he certainly got the output from his attacking players. Leo Messi began his festive evening with a formidable and memorable goulash for connections in the 13th minute, thus completing 13 consecutive seasons in which he scored at least 20 goals in La Liga, the only one of course to do so in history.
Later it was Antoine Griezmann’s turn to imitate the Argentine in an equally beautiful performance of his own. The Frenchman received a pass from Pedri and swung his leg on the way to a big goal to the goal of Albero Fernandez in the 35th minute. Precisely when it seemed that the Catalans would sail, the guest received a very borderline penalty, which Rafa Mir used to balance in the extra time of the first half.

In the second half the pace naturally slowed, with Barça of course still dominating, but Huesca were not far from conquering again, including an inconceivable miss by Mir up close. The victory of the locals was guaranteed when the flea arranged for Mingsa the third with a shot in the 53rd minute and from that moment Koman’s team calmed down, when in the 90th minute the flea completed a pair with another wonderful goal from a distance and sealed the game. In the next round, the Catalans expect a difficult hurdle in the form of a game against the powerful Real Sociedad away.
