The Lincoln Lawyer series by David E. Kelley finds a new home at Netflix starring Manuel Garcia-Rulfo
Matthew McConaughey starred in a 2011 film adaptation of The Lincoln Lawyer, and a series draft, via CBS, was erased amid COVID-19 pandemics last year.
Now another version of the series from David E. Kelley has found a new home at Netflix with Manuel Garcia-Rulfo starring Mickey Haller.
The first 10-episode season of The Lincoln Lawyer, based on Michael Connelly’s novel series, will focus on the second book, The Brass Verdict.

The creative team of the CBS version remains the same for the new inclusion with Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) and presenter Ted Humphrey (The Good Wife) serving as writers and action producers.
Connelly and Ross Fineman will also represent production.
With the throwing of Mexico-born Garcia-Rulfo (The Magnificent Seven, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) in the title role, the series pays homage to the story’s Latinx origins.
Lincoln’s Lawyer turns around Mickey Haller (Garcia-Rulfo), an iconoclastic thinker, who runs his law practice out of the back seat of his Lincoln City Car, while he takes big and small issues all over Los Angeles.

‘Manuel brings a powerful vibe and dimension to the role – one that aligns with the books and allows the show to celebrate Latinx heritage and the roots of this Los Angeles-based story.’
Connelly said, ‘The series will be adapted to cater to the complex and mysterious arcs fans that fans know and love with a mix of light-hearted humor and a dose of family dynamics.’

Mickey’s role was slated to be played by Logan Marshall-Green in a CBS version. Mickey Lorna’s second stepmother, who was to be played by Kiele Sanchez, will also be redesigned, according to Deadline.
The search for a director for the new series is still ongoing.
So far there is no word on the official premiere date.
