‘Life imitates art’: Archie Comics’ 1997 cartoon predicts mind blowing online classes

Even though the last year of the coronavirus outbreak has changed people to work from home and remote learning, it was not something most people saw coming. However, Archie Comics’ creative minds seem to have been weaving around for the past two decades. Now, as online classes have become a new norm, a comic strip published in their magazine in the late 90s is going viral and netizens are surprised by the relentless prediction.

The comic strip features an establishment of isolated learning, proving that in 2021 AD children will have a proper school experience within the comforts of their homes. In the comic strip, Betty Coopers is seen telling her mum that she has “thirty seconds in total” before school starts, something that has hit home for many recently, logging on just seconds before classes go live.

In addition to the CRP monitor equipped with a video camera that was used to attend classes at home and her parents ’future attire – the comic largely got it.
