LG QNED Mini LED TVs will be launched at the prestigious CES 2021 event, the company announced today. This is the first range that will target consumers of mini-LED TV from the South Korean tech giant, and will be available in various sizes and resolutions up to 86 inches and 8K, respectively. The new display technology will also combine LG’s quantum dot and NanoCell technologies, making it the company’s most prestigious TV series available to consumers, upon its official launch. at CES 2021.
The TV line uses mini-LED technology as the light source, with 30,000 tiny LEDs illuminating the display. As mentioned, this combines the company’s quantum dot coating and proprietary NanoCell technology, for what LG promises to be a high-end viewing experience that exceeds the capabilities of OLED technology.
A total of ten variations will be introduced in the QNED TV range, with resolutions ranging from Ultra-HD to 8K, and sizes going up to 86 inches. LG also claims that the TV range will support refresh rates up to 120Hz, have up to 2,500 local discount zones, and support HDR video playback. LG with the famous 86-inch 8K QNED TV will be on display at the CES 2021 event starting on January 11 and available online.
The new range goes up against Samsung, that just recently unveiled its own 110-inch MicroLED TV. While MicroLED display technology is considered superior to mini-LED technology, it is worth noting that mini-LED TVs are easier and more affordable to manufacture at smaller sizes, making the latter a much larger technology. more consumer ready than ever before. Both MicroLED and mini-LED are based on LCD displays, and are expected to be alternatives to OLED technology, which is currently the leading price among mass market options.
