Lee Do-Hyun wants his acting to have a positive impact on audiences

When things start to go awry in the drama Sweet home, Lee Do-hyun’s character takes control, bringing a sense of order to a horrible reality. His character lives in an apartment building where the occupants start turning into monsters. He’s a natural leader – even in the midst of an incomprehensible situation.

“I play the Lee Eun-hyuk character,” Lee said. “He is calm, done and truthful and does his best as an escape leader to be with others. He separates those who are going to turn into a monster from others, locking them in a room. ”

Lee thinks he’s lucky to have been thrown in the drama, which co-stars Song Kang, Lee Jin-wook and Lee Si-young, because he loves his character.

“I love the character Eun-hyuk because he’s real,” he said. “He makes choices that seem too cold, but his choices are plausible and logical. People can criticize Eun-hyuk, but you can’t criticize his choices. ”

Lee made his acting debut in 2017, playing the youngest version of Jung Kyung-ho’s character in Prison Playbook. He played for a rowing club member in Still 17 and tae kwon do athlete Clean With Suffering, then drew more attention playing IU’s lost love in the drama Del Luna Hotel, which became one of the top Korean dramas in cable television. In Hotel del Luna, his character is a royal guard in Goguryeo’s time. His fate of being tormented by an IU character sets the rest of the plot in motion.

“People started recognizing me after the series,” Lee said. “I used to think that historical drama wasn’t an easy genre to perform, but chose Del Luna Hotel it was a good starting point for me to get to know the genre, so I’m thankful I got the chance. ”

It will always be difficult for actors to bless a character they have played. So far, his Sweet home the Eun-hyuk character has stayed with him the longest.

“The first project that made me realize that my character is influencing me – I became very angsty and on edge while filming Sweet home. I think the character of the series had a profound effect on me every day. ”

Just like the motivation of angst Sweet home? Do viewers have to watch the horror drama before nightfall?

“I think it would be better if you watch the series in the dark to immerse yourself in the story,” he said. “And it will be more fun to see it with your friends because you may then wonder what kind of monsters you and your friends could turn if you were in the same situation as the characters.”

Lee recently appeared in the JTBC drama 18 Again, about a man who wants to magically revisit what he remembers as an easier time than life. Yoon Sang Hyun plays at age 38, but when he’s suddenly 18 again, Lee takes over his own younger role. So Lee had to perform the part of a 38-year-old male, who found himself in an 18-year-old body, and at the same time, revealed Yoon’s methods and actions.

It may be too early to ask if Lee has time in his life that he wants to return to. At 25 he is an actor in high demand and the future looks promising.

“I don’t want to go back in time to a particular time in my life, but if I had to choose, I might prefer to go back to high school years and try to have a more normal life as a high school. student appreciates spending time with my friends. ”

Although he went to acting academy in high school, his dream of becoming an actor came out while studying film and theater at Chung-Ang University.

“I wanted to be an actor because I really appreciated how my acting inspired the audience,” Lee said. “I hope to be an actor who can make a positive impact on the audience. ”

He takes real action, as he sees its potential to comfort and inspire viewers. Facing his work with that responsibility makes him look so conscientious. Sweet home character Eun-hyuk.

“I hope my performance as an actor can empower the audience that will help them gain the energy they need to see the positive aspects of life,” Lee said. “I plan to continue to train myself as an actor and learn harder so that I can grow as an actor and be better at what I do to inspire others. ”
