Lauren and Cameron Love Is Blind: ‘Watching the show back is intense’ | Television & radio

Which series did you guys keep going during lockdown?
Cameron:
We watch The Umbrella Academy, of course. We looked at Emily in Paris, too.
Lauren: I made him look at that.
Cameron: I got it in! I liked how you could predict what was going to happen next. The best discovery we made was in locking down Raising Dion, which was a really great superhero show with a complex narrative. It wasn’t your usual superhero show or movie.
Lauren: We’ve been watching a lot of superhero shows and movies.

What series can’t you watch without waiting for each other?
Lauren:
Anything we look at together. As soon as we start watching a series together, it’s like: “Did you follow that without me? How sorry you are! ”That’s almost a hoax, you know?
Cameron: Soft shape off. It’s not good!
Lauren:
I’ve been watching a lot of New Prince and [Martin Lawrence’s sitcom] Martin.
Cameron: You’ve been watching Martin without me?
Lauren: Yeah, babe!
Cameron: When?
Lauren: See? You started an argument!
Cameron: I don’t know if I’ve been repeating any shows except Love Is Blind. It’s intense all the time; just a flood of memories and emotions.

How many times have you watched it?
Lauren:
All the way through maybe once and then I feel like we are just reassembling our parts. It’s like watching our home videos. Watching us come together, watching our families come together and all. It wasn’t overdone, so there was still a lot of publicity and honesty.

What presentation has 2020 explained to you?
Lauren:
Hmm… Love is blind! Oh, and Tiger King.

What a super-hyped show you just have could not get in?
Lauren:
I can’t get into the Bachelor.
Cameron: Oh, come on. That is not true! You watched with me and you enjoyed it!
Lauren: I watched it with you because you wanted to! But I can’t get in. I’m not even really into date shows … even though we met on a date show.
Cameron: I was the same as Lauren, until I got a throw for Love Is Blind. And then I was like “Okay, I need to do some research to find out what these shows are like.” So I started “educating” myself on this stuff.

What reality shows are you watching?
Lauren:
One of my guilty pleasures is The Real Housewives in Atlanta. It’s so funny; I love how it is so little shade. I love them just women.
Cameron: I like the Bachelor in Paradise show, more than the regular Bachelor because I can’t completely board with the idea that one person is going back 15 another.
Lauren: You did that! You have dated 15 people [on Love Is Blind]!
Cameron: He was 15 going 15, against one going 15! But the Bachelor in Paradise is free for all.

How have you dealt with your new oneseek visibility?
Lauren:
There was a time of change; when the show first came out, and I remember jumping on social media and it never stopped. But we try not to stress ourselves out – we just do it and now we have an extended family of people. We now have a million cousins!

What do you think of the idea that Love Should Blind People have used less attractive people to wake things up?
Lauren:
It’s so funny, for two reasons. One, who’s to say who’s attractive?
Cameron: Hmm. Well … I think you appeal to all…
Lauren: Secondly, in my own life, I have given attractive men a date and these are some of the nicest dates I have ever had! Awesome! The relationship is a whack! So okay, two people are attractive, but that doesn’t mean love works.
Cameron: Even people chose who they wanted to be [on the show], we were not physically attracted to them at all. They weren’t even really of their type, but they were still working on it or not.
Lauren: On the girls’ side, we wondered if there was a twist, because we were like, “Every girl is attractive. “We thought Beauty and the Beast was a good thing.
Cameron: We talked about that potential on the Guy side as well.

What would you like to see in the next season of Love Is Blind?
Lauren:
A therapist? [Laughs] I hope everyone is true to themselves. Since the first season was so successful, I would love to see people go there for the wrong reasons.
Cameron: I know the throw is good. They try to find people they feel will really matter. I know a lot of people have been calling on people from the LGBT + community, different body types. I would love to see that.

Would you guys make reality TV again? A spinoff?
Lauren:
We would like to continue to share our story. This is when all the good stuff happens: marriage, mixed families, talking about family planning down the line and everything. Maybe next year – we’ll see!
