LaMelo Ball gets 22 points, flirts with doubles vs Mavs

LaMelo Ball had the best performance of the season for the Hornets against the Mavericks on Wednesday. Coming off the bench, Ball scored 22 points with nine rebounds and five assists, courting his first double-double career in a 118-99 win.

Coming off the bench, Ball fired 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-5 from three in his effect now. He also noticed a block and theft and finished with a plus-minus of +8 at night.

His achievement was not only impressive but also historical. He was the first Hornets rookie from Kemba Walker in 2012 to record 15 points, five assists and five rebounds in a game. Similarly, he was the first Hornets rookie from Kendall Gill in 1991 to record 20 points with five rebounds and five assists off the bench.

Ball helped the Hornets mountain score 42 points in the first half and 60 overall in the win. Miles Bridges also scored 20 points with 16 rebounds off the bench.
