Lamborghini says two new V12 – powered cars are coming this year

Take on the V12s!

It’s never a bad day when we learn about new V12-powered cars coming, especially when they come from a company like Lamborghini. Last Friday, the brand delivered its 2020 sales results, and crucially, all the lines are marked. Good news. The best news for us is the fact that it has announced two “new products based on the V12 image.”

The company did not provide zero other details, but they did not stop the big V12 ol in anything but one-time supercars and the Aventador. This is likely to be true again after reports that the Aventador surrogate is not coming later in this decade, with hybrid power. We learned that the V12 is not going away (thank god) and Lamborghini plans to adopt electrification to make the engine possible in a world with emissions compression rules. The Sian FKP 37 showed one way forward using a supercapacitor. It is unclear whether future V12 electronics will follow the same path or take a more traditional hybrid route.

In the meantime, Lamborghini will still be very busy. CEO Stephan Winkelmann said orders for January and February are above 2020 numbers and the Italian company has enough to cover nine months of production.
