Lakers star Anthony Davis is expected to miss 4 weeks with a calf injury

Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is expected to miss a month with calf weight, which he sent back sometime in mid-March.

“He’s going to be out for 4 weeks,” Lakers coach Frank Vogel said reporters said after the Lakers lost to the Nets 109-98 Thursday night, adding that the team will be constantly monitoring and evaluating Davis.

Davis, 27, stayed through the second quarter of Sunday’s Lakers 122-105 loss to Denver and did not return. He missed two games last week due to the same injury.

Asked about the 4-week schedule, Lakers star LeBron James said: “I hadn’t even thought so far as to be honest. I take it from day to day. We play every other day so I don’t get a chance to look four weeks ahead. It would not be appropriate for me or our member club. I have to wait a minute.

“I’m already starting to prepare myself for Saturday’s matchup with Miami. Just keep my focus that way. Stay low and keep firing. I hadn’t even thought that long like four weeks from now. ”

The Lakers (22-8) are 2 1/2 games back from Western Utah.

In December, Davis completed a five-year, $ 190-million maximum expansion, to stay with the Lakers, who are eager to repeat as NBA champions.
