The 123-122 loss of the Nets to the Wizards on Sunday was baffling if there was no other reason than Washington 1-5 going into the matchup, not to mention the fact that Brooklyn is now powered by both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. With the Nets coming off a tough loss for the Atlanta Hawks – and they have now lost four of their last five to go below .500 – this may be a cause for concern.
Irving doesn’t think so, though. Addressing the Nets’ recent problems with reporters on Zoom’s call after Sunday’s loss, he continued the statement, “It’s basketball” many times before he expanded on his idea of things.
“I don’t think we’ve managed reasonable expectations of what we want out of this group right now, every day, obviously, week to week and then month-to-month. -month, ”said Irving. “And we put together a good few months of consistent work and steady progress, regularly paving the way, regular communication, and well being okay.
“But we are committed to it. I know the boys in the locker room, everyone in this group promised that. We want to change this whole thing, and that is not an overnight process. I didn’t come here for two or three years, anything like that. So I’m excited for the upcoming trip and the team getting better. It’s as simple as basketball, but it takes a team effort to come together. ”
