Former Deputy National Security Adviser KT McFarland picked up calls Wednesday from top Republican lawmakers urging President Trump to appoint a special adviser to investigate Hunter Biden’s business affairs in China.
McFarland told “The Story” host Martha MacCallum that a probe is needed to rule out any possible “conflict” for President Joe Biden and the incoming administration.
TRUMP INCLUDES POTENTIAL SPECIAL COUNSEL TO HIDTER BIDEN INVESTIGATION
“There is very important evidence that his son was threatened by the Chinese government, that there is a pay-to-play corruption scandal,” McFarland said. “I mean, is Joe Biden himself at risk? “
The youngest Biden has been under intense scrutiny over the past year over his business interests in Ukraine and China, as well as his father’s place in them.
HUNTER BIDEN SENT ‘HIDER BIDEN SENT HIDER BIDEN FAMILY HIDER
In new letters found between Hunter Biden and CEFC Chairman Ye Jianming, the younger Biden extended “good wishes from the entire Biden family,” and urged the chairman to “quickly” send a $ 10 million string to “fund a joint venture and work properly” with the now bankrupt Chinese power company.
According to McFarland, the email raises big questions about the president’s involvement.
“This country needs to heal,” she said. “And as long as this cloud … is over our president, where 50% of the population is watching that boy and saying, ‘You stole it and you seem to be in danger with the Chinese’, that doesn’t make America good at all, so let’s get a special prosecutor out, clean the air , if there is nothing, great, and if there is anything, we need to know about it. “
INTEL EVALUATION FOR CHINA INTERACTIONS
Her comments come hours after the intelligence community assessment aimed at the impact of a foreign election announced delays in releasing their report, citing controversy between senior information analysts over whether China tries to influence election in Biden’s favor.
McFarland said the delay reflects a “significant split” within the information community about whether and to what extent China was affected.

“Was it something to do with cyberattacks, was it something to do with the ballot, did it have something to do with peddling, did it have something to do with bots and the kind of moving the pot? ? ” she asked. “All of these things are a range of issues and I accept the reason for the delay because there may be something explosive.”
